Rafael Roig ventured to step into the world of transportation with the purchase of a Citroen B10.
After purchasing the first bus in 1957 the company's founder bought a 20-seater Saba which was used for the first tourist-trips in Mallorca.
In 1982, the company already counts with 80 cars. At that time, the use of computer science starts to be of high importance.
In 2003 the company celebrates, under the direction of the three sons, its fiftieth anniversary.
Today Roig Rent a Car counts with a fleet of more than 1000 rental cars and continues to be one of the leading car rentals in Mallorca.
In the past 59 years, the Roig-Company-Group has been leader in car rental and bus tours in the area of Cala d'Or, Santanyi, Portocolom and Calas de Mallorca.The headquarter is in Cala D'Or. But with more than 900 rental cars which are renewed annually, as well as 40 buses, a taxi service and an exclusive selection of luxury cars with chauffeur, you can enjoy the Roig service at different parts of Mallorca, for instance at Palma airport, our offices in Can Pastilla and in Calas de Mallorca. The exclusive and personalized treatment with the client defines the company, and made it grow over the years.
In 1953 Rafael Roig Oliver founded the company with the purchase of a Citroen B10, its first taxi providing service to the first tourists that arrived to Mallorca at that time. With the tourism boom of the 60's, the founder decided to buy his first bus, a 20-seater Saba. The fleet grew by increased tourism and so did the company, now managed by Rafael Roig' three children: Miguel, Juan and Rafael Roig.
Another component of the company is Travel Agent "MIJURA" where in addition to conventional journeys, the tours for the bus department are offered. The Roig company also manages an insurance company and a petrol station in this tourist area in the south-east of Mallorca.
